Message	check valve, seems like the previous owner didnt want to cough up the money for any oem hose and used a different type of hose. It could also be that his clutch vacuum booster went, and he tried to plug it from there, which would be incorrect. How is the car idling??? It should be that great if that fitting in your second pic is open like that.
